REVIEW: HAPPIE — Real Love (EP)
HAPPIE’s ‘Real Love’ EP introduces a promising artist who is beginning to carve out her own niche in the indie-pop world. The title track, “Real Love,” is a haunting, down-tempo song that has been brought to life with a beautifully crafted music video in collaboration with the Hollywood Ballet, showcasing HAPPIE’s artistic vision. “Shooting Star” a soft, acoustic ballad dedicated to her father, is touching, though the simplicity of the lyrics might not appeal to everyone. “Close” brings in a more contemporary sound with its drum machine and sparse guitar, offering a contrast that adds depth to the EP.
The EP wraps up with “Easy,” a catchy, summer-ready track that, while not groundbreaking, shows HAPPIE’s potential to create memorable pop hooks. ‘Real Love’ may not break new ground, but it’s a solid introduction to an artist with a lot of promise.
